Holiday Greetings!  Quick update on Youth Dreams Sports Family:

Hoop Dreams At St Johns!

All the Hoop Dreams Basketball Teams went to St John's v Kansas St Game on Dec 7th and many played at halftime at Carnesecca Arena!  Click here to Read more for pics and videos.  HOOP DREAMS NY is a travel basketball program based in Huntington NY that has teams from 3rd Gr to HS.  Tryouts are always available.  We are focused on practice and develop the player’s game.  We are interested in what a 5th grader does on the court in 7th grade and what a 7th grader will bring to the table when they walk into HS in the fall of 9th grade.  We don't play a zillion games; we are more focused on teaching the game first.  We never ever play zone defense.

Youth Dreams Families Receive Concierge Orthopedic Service

Orlin & COHEN offers all YOUTH DREAMS FAMILIES concierge service when injury strikes.  O & C will get you an appointment with an orthopedist within 24 hours.  If someone in your family is in need of orthopedic specialist simply text 516.996.3663 and Youth Dreams & Orlin & Cohen will get you an appointment close to home within hours.  A Youth Dreams player hurt their wrist in a baseball tourney in the fall on a Sunday afternoon and they were in front of an orthopedist at 10 am the very next day!  No waiting, no sitting on hold for 2 hours, go right to the doc.

Tim, I just wanted to say thanks again to Hoop Dreams for referring us to the Orlin & Cohen orthopedic group for my son Nate. Nate had been playing in the Hoop Dreams Foundation League, which by the way is a fantastic skills program for the kids. He hurt his wrist about a month ago (not while playing basketball). A coworker who’s son plays on one of Hoop Dreams’ teams recommended I reach out to Tim. After contacting him, the doctor’s office called me the same day and was able to make an appointment immediately with one of their hand specialists. THAT VERY SAME DAY!  Fast forward a few weeks later and my son Nate healed amazingly quickly and is now cleared to play basketball again. He is so excited to be a part of the Hoop Dreams program this winter and words cannot describe how grateful I am to HOOP DREAMS and Orlin and Cohen for all their help!

Volleyball Dreams Skills Sessions

Beginners & Intermediates

Volleyball Skills sessions started first week in September and is rolling all the way through May.  We aspire to get beginner and intermediate volleyball players as many skilled touches with professional oversight as possible each evening.  4th-6th grade and 7th - 8th grade grouped separately, 75 minute sessions. Foundation Hoops League 

1st – 3rd graders - Learn proper basketball skills FIRST, THEN play games!

COMMITMENT: Players can play 1x, 2x or 3x per week
60 minute sessions - 30-40 minutes of skill work, 20-30 minutes of competition
Learn proper footwork, ball control, proper rules, proper passing technique, cutting to basket, jump stops, pivoting.
Hoop Dreams Shot lab has 6 baskets that go down to 8', allowing for proper shooting technique to be learned.

Youth Dreams has 2 locations for Pickleball in Huntington.

HOOP DREAMS SHOT Lab in Huntington Station has 2 dedicated Pickleball Only courts open M-F 3pm – 9pm and 8am-8pm on weekends.  Our other location ½ mile away at Gloria Dei church gym is a single private court 3 minutes away open early morning and daytime hours from 7am – 3pm M-F.  Pickleball Camps for kids coming Feb vacation and April break; we also have 4 weeks of pickleball camp planned for the summer. Come join in the pickleball craze!

Field Hockey Winter Training with Field Hockey Dreams NY 

We are holding 2 seasons of winter field hockey training in South Huntington gyms this winter.  4th- 6th grade and 7th – HS.  Players are separated by skill level.
